When and where is the 2026 World Cup?
The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026 across 16 cities in USA, Canada, and Mexico. It's the first World Cup to be hosted by three countries.
How many teams are competing?
48 teams will compete, up from 32 in previous tournaments. This is the first 48-team World Cup.
What is the tournament format?
12 groups of 4 teams each. Each team plays 3 group matches. Top 2 from each group (24 teams) plus 8 best third-place teams advance to the Round of 32. From there, it's single-elimination through Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final.
Which US cities are hosting?
11 US cities: Inglewood (SoFi Stadium), East Rutherford (MetLife Stadium - Final), Arlington (AT&T Stadium), Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium), Houston (NRG Stadium), Seattle (Lumen Field), Santa Clara (Levi's Stadium), Miami (Hard Rock Stadium), Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field), Foxborough (Gillette Stadium), and Kansas City (Arrowhead Stadium).
Which Canadian cities are hosting?
2 Canadian cities: Toronto (BMO Field) and Vancouver (BC Place).
Which Mexican cities are hosting?
3 Mexican cities: Mexico City (Estadio Azteca) - the opening match, Guadalajara (Estadio Akron), and Monterrey (Estadio BBVA).

All 48 teams are now confirmed. The hosts are USA, Canada, and Mexico. Other notable teams include Brazil, Argentina, France, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and defending champions Argentina.
